An Aquatics Aide does a grip of fun stuff for the City swimming pools. If you want to teach lessons, respond to emergencies, and interact with swimmers, the Aquatics Aide job is right for you! You don’t even need to know how to swim - you just have to enjoy the water and have an outgoing attitude! If you don’t want to teach lessons, that’s cool too - we need plenty of cashiers. Age 15+
Lifeguards are highly trained first responders who are prepared to respond to any type of emergency in and around a pool. Not only to respond to emergencies but more importantly prevent injuries from occurring by enforcing facility rules. We also get to teach children of all ages how to swim! Age 15+
Make a lasting impact with bicycle riders by helping people learn to repair their bicycles. Mechanical training is provided, and no experience is necessary. If you are a person that loves bicycles and wants to help other people, this is the job for you! Age 15+
Instruct and supervise youth in outdoor activities such as climbing walls, bicycle safety education programs, caving, rappelling, rocket building, archery, and more. Age 15+

Provide twenty four hour security services for assigned City facilities and property, including vehicles and equipment; protect facilities from unlawful intrusion and criminal acts and ensure public safety. High School Diploma or GED: and Two (2) years of security or customer service experience. Possession of a valid Driver's License. Age 18+
Provide police service that otherwise would be lost or delayed because of workload saturation on sworn officers, relieve sworn officer of non-related or low priority police service so that they may pursue anti-crime activities more effectively. Collect and preserve physical evidence in the field; ensure the preservation of all items taken into evidence and testify in court regarding the chain of custody and integrity of evidence. Successful candidates enjoy going above and beyond to welcome BioPark guests and ensure that all guests have a fun, safe and educational visit crew members report to the admissions supervisors and are part of the guest experience department. Age 18+

Volunteer BioPark Camp Counselor
Teen volunteers assist camp teachers at the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach with classroom management and activities working with children from K-9th grade to discover nature. Age 16-19
Serve on the leadership Council for the Mayor’s Creative Youth Corps (MCYC). Paid, contracted position, beginning in the spring ending in mid-August. This is an ideal position for multi-faceted individuals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with a team of creative, civic-minded artists and community leaders curious about expanding their skills in leadership, arts administration, project management, mentorship, and artistic creation. Volunteer Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (MYAC)
The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council works to provide the Mayor’s office with the youth perspective on city issues and to foster a sense of community in order to aid in the development and betterment of Albuquerque.
The Summer Youth Ambassador will assist the Bank On Burque Program Manager by delivering financial education to Summer Youth Employees (SYE), providing peer support, and tracking and reporting SYE progress. Age 14-24
Perform routine maintenance, repair and cleaning of the City's street system; operate and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools and learn to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Age 18-25
Volunteers play an important role in assisting the Library to offer our services to the community on a continuing basis—and our teen volunteers are no exception! Age 13-17

Each day, we work to help young people discover what's possible in their lives. We do this by helping them connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom.
We help with preschool and child care, prenatal care, alternative education, job training employment assistance, mental and behavioral health services, homeless assistance, emergency housing, mentoring, family development services, family counseling services, and supervised visitation.

The Job and Volunteer Fair will feature the return of the Parent Lounge! Parents are welcome to come and grab a cup of coffee and discover resources on how to support their job seekers. This is a great place to gather while participants explore the fair on their own. There will be mini-presentations, representatives from partner organizations, as well as City of ABQ hiring managers on hand to answer questions.
