ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Homicide Unit was alerted this week to a victim of a shooting in May who died as a result of his wounds on June, 10, 2023.

Detectives with APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit were able to identify a suspect in the shooting, which occurred May 21, 2023 in a laundromat parking lot at 611 San Mateo Blvd., S.E. The victim, Julius Johnson-Tumbling, 34, shot following an argument he had with a man over text message.

As he initially recovered in the hospital, Johnson-Tumbling helped detectives identify the suspect as Albert Henderson, 37. Henderson was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Johnson-Tumbling died of his injuries on June 10. APD detectives contacted the District Attorney’s Office to upgrade the charges against Henderson to reflect a homicide.
