APD starts homicide investigation after victim of Oct. 16 incident dies

ALBUQUERQUE – APD homicide detectives are taking over an investigation into man who died days after an incident in the parking lot of the John Brooks supermarket in the North Valley.

Officers responded on Oct. 16, 2023, to reports of a man who was seriously injured at the store, located at 1130 Candelaria Rd., N.W.

Homicide detectives were notified on Oct. 23 that the man, identified as Michael Trujillo, 41, died in the hospital as a result of his wounds. A homicide investigation was started and detectives are working on several leads.
