Open Space Lands

Information about Open Space lands in Albuquerque.

Albuquerque Open Space is mostly composed of lands acquired by the City of Albuquerque. Open Space also includes properties owned by other entities and co-managed by the Open Space Division.

Each piece of land contains a number of areas that provide the public with a variety of facilities and uses.

Boca Negra Canyon

Open Space Farmlands

Open Space Division owns five agricultural sites, and we contract with farmers to manage the lands for agricultural production and support wildlife. The agricultural lands include Los Poblanos Fields Open Space, Hubbell Oxbow Farm, Alamo Farm, and Open Space Visitor Center Farm. The Candelaria Nature Preserve is our 5th site, which is transitioning from agricultural production to a wildlife preserve. More information about the farmers and our sites is detailed below.
