ABQ BioPark welcomes male Malayan tiger to Asia

The move was recommended by the Malayan tiger Species Survival Plan

March 14, 2024

In late February the ABQ BioPark welcomed Triton, who will turn four in May, from his birthplace at Palm Beach Zoo. He's enjoying getting used to his new home, and will eventually be introduced to 10-year-old female, Arya.

Assistant Mammal Curator Casey is here to tell you all about our newest resident:

If you are wondering which tiger you are looking at as you explore Asia: Triton is larger and has a trident-shaped marking over his right eye, while Arya is easy to spot by the black dot near the center of her nose.
