Cibola Loop Multigenerational Center
Albuquerque’s Westside residents will soon benefit from the additional services and resources to be provided at the Cibola Loop Multi-Generational Center. This support for seniors, children, and families will promote inter-generational interaction, fostering a sense of community and resiliency. The groundbreaking is scheduled for May 21, 2024.
Currently, there are no multi-generational or senior facilities available for area residents. The four-phase 55,000 sf project will include a fitness center with a climbing gym, gymnasium with an elevated indoor running track, a social hall, and a variety of multi-use and classroom spaces. The project is sited to work with the sloping west to east topography and takes advantage of maximum views to the Sandia and Manzano Mountains to the east. The Albuquerque Department of Municipal Development is managing the project.
As the first building in the Cibola Loop complex, the Multigenerational Center will sit at the intersection of Cuba Road and Cibola Loop.
Site construction is set to start in May/June 2024. Building construction is expected to start this summer.
